Who can participate in Rat Race Events?

Anyone willing can participate in Rat Race events UK. As long as you’re in good form (physically and mentally fit), then by all means. However, make sure you can handle it before signing up.

While the organizers strive to make the events as inclusive as possible, their challenge levels are different. Also, some will require a specific skill and maybe experience. You can’t expect to complete an event like Man Vs Coast if you’ve never swum.

But don’t let this scare you off. As long as the event perfectly aligns with your skill set, why not test your limits?

One more thing, Rat Race accepts individual and team registrations! The latter can save you a few euros.

Rat Race Events Registration Fees

Unfortunately, Rat Race events are not free. There is a registration fee that varies depending on the particular event you want to take part in. This amount will be announced early, and as is the norm, early registrations are cheaper. As the event draws near, the fee increases.

Part of this money covers the cost of organising and carrying out the events. The other part goes into support and aid facilities throughout the course. What’s left goes into the company’s charity partners.

Away from that, there is a prize for winners in each Rat Race event. It can be cash, medals or any other thing. We understand you didn’t sign up for these prizes because it’s more about the experience. But you’ll get both if you beat the rest. If not, you’ll leave with memories of an unforgettable experience.

How to Prepare for Rat Race Events

While Rat Race is pulling out all the stops, you need to be ready. Remember, it’s you vs you. So, you must train and train hard. The company provides training plans, support, and advice on how to get ready for the events. But that’s not enough.

Here’s how to prepare for the events:

  • Take nutritious food and hydrate well.
  • Use the Rat Race training plan to create your own. Customize it to your schedule and fitness level.
  • Add cardio workouts to your training plan if it’s a cardio-conditioning event: swimming, running, cycling etc.
  • Get enough sleep. It allows your body to rest and recover.
  • Prepare your gear early enough. Also, make sure you get the right equipment for comfort and security.

Most importantly, don’t overwork your body. Adjust your training plan if need be!

Game On!

For the love of adventures, quests, and personal challenges, Rat Race has organized dozens of events this year. Most will be in the UK, but some will be in the US, Australia, Iceland, Malta, and a few other countries in the region.

Regardless of the location, they have one thing in common – they are all fun. And after the last few years, we all deserve an exciting experience. So, check the Rat Race events UK dates, pick an event, and register.
